This event is likely to be of most interest to those involved in facilities management and procurement of utilities but all are welcome.
The briefing is kindly being provided by one of Solace’s valued business partners, Business Stream, a water company that has already supported business customers in Scotland going through the process of the water market being opened up to competition. We are confident the presentation will be of interest to your organisation and will provide advice on the opportunities that will soon be available in terms of potentially reducing water bills for the wider local government family.
Since the UK Water Bill received Royal Assent in May 2014 there has been a great deal of activity to ensure an Anglo-Scottish retail water market will open in April 2017, enabling non-household customers in England to be able to choose their water supplier for the first time. Business Stream have been strong advocates of the UK Government’s plans to create an Anglo-Scottish retail water market, and since retail water competition was introduced in Scotland in 2008, non-household customers have experienced lower bills, improved customer service levels and been offered a range of new and innovative water and waste water services that have helped to drive efficiencies.
An Anglo-Scottish retail water market will enable customers in England to reap similar benefits and, for the first time, multi-site customers operating across both borders will be able to choose one supplier to handle all their water needs. Progress is being made in a number of areas, however there is more work still to be done and key areas to be addressed to ensure the market delivers for customers.
Solace is delighted to support Business Stream in its aim to see a market that is fair and simple to use for all. The briefing will not only provide you with an update on recent activity and issues that need to be tackled, but also the opportunity for you to contribute to shaping the future of the Anglo-Scottish retail water market.
