International practical learning

There are many ways SOLACE can help local government managers learn internationally.  These include:

Seek out and promote examples of good practice and innovation

Research projects
An  example of recent research is the SOLACE Human Trafficking study group.  This was established to gather information on good practice amongst European local authorities in addressing the challenges associated with human trafficking and to identify ways to help UK local authorities better respond to the challenges of human trafficking

Case studies

  • Articles in SOLACE Focus e-magazine have highlighted  Members’ experiences of learning internationally
  • Signposting to articles from sister and partner organisations journals/websites such as the Commonwealth Journal  of Local Governance http://epress.lib.uts.edu.au/ojs/index.php/cjlg/index
