The most recent survey of confidence among senior local government executives shows that SOLACE members believe that the reputation of local government is in decline but that the economy will be stronger in a year’s time. The SOLACE confidence survey provides a regular benchmark of confidence among senior local government executives. The survey series began in December 2008 so it is still too early to see any long term trends. However, while most measures have fluctuated in the last year, confidence in the economy has strengthened with each survey, while confidence in the reputation of local government has moved in the opposite direction.
