Early demand for hotel places at next year's SOLACE conference in Belfast has forced an immediate opening of the online hotel booking system.

In the wake of success at Cardiff this year, where the theme was Thing Global Act Local, the Belfast event will focus on creating prosperity across communities.

The theme for the Belfast conference will be Prosperity and Place.

Trish Haines, the newly appointed chief executive of Worcestershire County Council who will be SOLACE president next year, said, "Prosperity gives people the capacity to control their own lives and leads to healthy and sustainable communities. the UK is more prosperous than ever before, yet important indicators suggest that levels of social inequlaity are rising.  By exploring local governments's role in generating more prosperity, across all places not just some, SOLACE will be contributing to one of the most important public polity debates in the UK."

The event will be held at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast, October 7-9.
