Solace, LGA & PPMA in Conjunction with University of Birmingham

The LGA, SOLACE and PPMA are working together with our academic partner, the University of Birmingham, to jointly look at how we can provide a practical focus to the conceptual thinking that lies behind the University’s excellent research into the ‘21 century public servant’

The work can be found here: http://www.birmingham.ac.uk/Documents/college-social-sciences/public-serviceacademy/21-century-report-28-10-14.pdf

With the support of some Local Authorities already engaged in thinking about this, it is intended to develop a range of materials, information and support for members of the three organisations to utilise in the way that suits them best.

To assist us in this, we are keen to gather examples or information from councils who have emerging practice in this area. If your council has done any work or given any thought to how you can bring to life the thinking behind the 21st-century public servant, we would be very interested to hear from you. We do not need detailed case studies but summaries of relevant activity so that we can ensure we have a clear picture across the sector and can share information accordingly. We are also interested in examples from partner organisations in different sectors that you work with to provide public services.

If you do have information you would like to share, please contact Jacky Teasell at jacky.teasell@local.gov.uk by 12th October
